1917's Valse Erica had been a major hit for both Rudy and Thomas Edison, and both were eager to release Valse Llewellyn later in the same year. Rudy would go on to record Valse Llewellyn 4 times on both cylinder and disk recordings. Valse Llewellyn (called Waltz Llewellyn by Columbia Records) was another hit for Rudy and helped establish him as an important artist.
