In 1860 Jules Demersseman composed this Fantaisie on an original theme, at the request of Adolphe Sax. Originally composed for the Eb Alto Saxophone; now for perhaps the first time, this wonderful piece is available for the Bb Tenor Saxophone.
Written only 20 years after the Saxophone's invention, this 1860 masterpiece captured, for the first time, the enormous potential of the saxophone. A perfect concert opener or contest solo. The saxophone's first masterpiece.
